CHER, TRUMP TANGLE IN TWITTER TETE-A-TETE

Singer/actress Cher and real estate tycoon Donald Trump are engaged in a war of words via Twitter after Trump pounced on Cher for comments she made about Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, calling him “racist” and “homophobic.” Trump, a Romney supporter, fired back, posting on Twitter, “Cher attached (attacked) Mitt Romney. She is an average talent who is out of touch with reality.” On Monday, he told Fox News, “You know, I understand Cher, and Cher is somewhat of a loser. She’s lonely, she’s unhappy, she’s very miserable, and her sound-enhanced and computer-enhanced music doesn’t do it for me, believe me.”

HOOKER DVD COOK WITH THE HOOK: LIVE 1974 DUE JUNE 19

The late legendary blues giant John Lee Hooker left an indelible mark on rock and roll. On June 19, the good folks at MVD Entertainment Group will serve up still more proof of why the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s music was such an inspiration for so many classic rock artists(the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana) that followed with the release of the DVD Cook with the Hook: Live 1974. Recorded on July 6, 1974 in Gardner, MA, the set includes Hooker hits “Boom Boom,” “It Serves You Right to Suffer,” “Sweet Sweet Thing,” “Whiskey & Women,” and more.

‘THRILLER’ VIDEO ACTRESS SETTLES LAWSUIT WITH JACKSON ESTATE

The former Playboy playmate who played Michael Jackson’s girlfriend in the wildly popular video for the title track to the King of Pop’s worldwide smash album Thriller has settled a royalty lawsuit with the late singer’s estate. Ola Ray filed the suit against Jackson prior to his death in 2009, claiming she was still owned unpaid royalties from her performance in the “Thriller” video. An out of court settlement was reached, though terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Marin County, CA home where Grateful Dead member Jerry Garcia lived before his death in 1995 is back on the market at a deeply-discounted bargain price of $3.595 million, down almost half a million from its original listing in 2009. The historic 7,000-square-foot home comes with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a fitness room, a solar-heated swimming pool, a 1,500-foot artist’s studio and a six-car garage. NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE INKED TO HEADLINE VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE

The reunited Neil Young & Crazy Horse and punk trio Green Day are the first confirmed headliners for the forthcoming Voodoo Music Experience festival, taking place October 26-28 in New Orleans. Festival organizers are expected to announce the rest of the event’s lineup in the moth’s to come. Festival founder Stephen Rehage said of booking Young & Crazy Horse, “They are one of a handful of artists that you hope to have the privilege to work with at some point in your career. It’s what you dream of when you create something like Voodoo.” The new Neil Young & Crazy Horse album Americana will be out on June 5. The Green Day gig will coincide with the release of the group’s September and November releases of two new studio albums, Uno! And Dos!, respectively. A third album, Tre!, will be released on January 15, 2013.
